Profile Settings

Each user can customize their Dubby experience through profile settings. These preferences are stored server-side and apply across all devices.

Set a default audio language for playback. When a media item has multiple audio tracks, Dubby selects the track matching your preference automatically.

If no track matches your preferred language, the default track from the media file is used.

Set a default subtitle language. When enabled, Dubby automatically selects a subtitle track in your preferred language when starting playback.

Subtitle selection priority:

  1. Manual selection in the player (overrides everything)
  2. Session memory (last-used track within a show)
  3. Your language preference (if configured)
  4. Off (default when no preference is set)

Dubby supports 14 accent colors that customize the UI highlight color across the interface:

red, orange, amber, emerald, teal, cyan, sky, blue, indigo, violet, purple, fuchsia, pink, rose

The default accent color is sky. Your selection applies to buttons, progress bars, focus rings, and other interactive elements.

Your display name appears in:

  • The navigation bar
  • Admin session lists (visible to admins)
  • Activity logs

Change your password from the profile settings page. Passwords must be at least 8 characters and include a lowercase letter, uppercase letter, and digit.

Profile settings are per-user and stored on the server. This means:

  • Your preferences follow you across devices (web, TV, mobile)
  • Admins cannot see or modify other users’ preferences
  • Settings take effect immediately without restarting playback
